Sophie Gilbert

Hi. I’m Sophie, I’m 17, and I love music. Yes, that last sentiment is a broad, often made statement, but it’s true. I’m a singer, a songwriter, and I play guitar, piano, bass and a pretty mean recorder. I’ve spent the greater part of my 17 years performing in any and every capacity, and the only thing I’ve enjoyed more than my time on any given stage is the time I’ve spent learning the theory and reasoning behind the music I love. As a songwriter, I believe understanding the music that is special to you and what makes it special is crucial. And that is the purpose of my blog, Album to Album. Although it started as a project for my creative writing elective, it’s become an archive of my musical thoughts and opinions. When I’m writing music, I enjoy looking back on these albums that are special to me and letting them influence and share bits and pieces of their greatness with me and my music.
